We also do curry dinners, doubles (bundles of curried spiced chickpeas), Pholourie (fried dough with chutney), as well as many other Caribbean favorites. We have a wide selection of imported beverages to accent your meal even further.
This is supposed to be a restaurant/eatery with a Trinidadian flavour - think again! I ordered 3 beef dalpouri rotis and 2 doubles with channa for take out and I invited one other person to try both - the roti was very thin with very little dahl, very dry, and the curry beef/potatoes tasteless. "D Hot Shoppe" also needs a course in making doubles! The channa in the doubles were slightly under-cooked and again, tasteless.
Maybe the owners should visit their competition and experience what they are clearly missing.
what more can i say that hasnt been said! Being from the west indies and trying roti shops all over toronto and area for 20 years i can honestly say this is one of the best. The other day i found another place in burlington and decided to give it a try. couldnt even compare. d hot shoppe i will never stray from you again!
If we go during the office hours their goat roti is of good quality. But if we go after office hours, it's one of the worst roti someone can ever have. Very few meat and gravy tastes almost like water. Price is same as the day time. So I give them 2 star because of this dual standard. For day time taste I would give them 4 star. We try to go during the lunch hour. Unfortunately,it's the only roti shop in Burlington.
Not a real fan of this type of food but for a change of pace, decided to try it.
Have to say I was very happy afterward.
Good spices, not overpowering and very authentic
If you're a fan of roti, this is the place!
Friendly, fast service, food is fresh and tasty, normally difficult to find vegetairan options on menus but D Hot Shoppe have a good selection. Very good, will visit again.
