We have been to Taal twice now for dianner and are going for lunch this week. The buffet is excellent and fresh and has good variety considering its small size. I recommend saving room for the baked carrot dessert. The owner came to see us at our table both times to find out how things were going. If you are fimilar with Sangam restaurant in Mississauga, they are the same owners.
We've had food from Taal 3 times - once on site and twice take out.
Brantford needs more places like this one - out of the ordinary, exotic and delicious. The chef really knows his spices!

I'm not a major fan of Indian cuisine (& therefore not terribly knowledgeable), but my friend is and has had us back here 3 times in the short time this restaurant has been open.
The food seemed quite fresh and flavourful. I usually judge by the butter chicken - in this case quite tender and the sauce had a very rich taste & texture. The curries are also tasty, though not overly spicy (I imagine the a la carte offerings would have more heat). Naan is made fresh for your table, not just allowed to sit in the warming trays, and is excellent.
Very good value for $8.99.
