We went for Martini night on Wednesday, and since...
We went for Martini night on Wednesday, and since we were a large party, were lucky that no one else wanted to sit in the somewhat chilly outdoor patio in late March. However, we were comfortable enough and had a great time. For the price and the excellent quality of the drinks, we were fully expecting a very busy place and not the best service they could offer. To the waitress' credit, she advised ordering the next round at the time of receiving a fresh round. Using this method we got pretty good service considering how busy they were, and the waitress was never rude or unhelpful. To those wanting a simple dinner at this place, it would probably be best to avoid Wednesdays. I would definitely go here again and I'm hoping to go again this Wednesday!
The food is the only good thing about the experience. The wait staff was incompetent and unable to make executive decisions, such as, after making a mistake on one of our orders (which happens everywhere, and is acceptable if corrected), instead of our order being placed at the head of the que in the kitchen, it was reorder as if we had just sat down (as advised by our waitress). After advising the waitress that this was unacceptable and that the order should be pushed through, she came back 15 minutes later to advised us that the order has not been started and that she has cancelled the order. The manager then came to our table and advised us the dish was comped, which makes sense since it was cancelled and we did not get it. The line of the night from the manager “do not expect good service on a Wednesday night, it is hard to serve 50 martini’s”. Apparently serving a Heineken is pretty hard too, as my beer never made it to the table but was included on the bill (needless to say, it was removed from the bill or comped as the manager would say).
P.S. the dish that never came was pasta (not a complicated dish).
Service horrible, rube, unfriendly
Overall HORRIBLE, everything than would ruin a nice night out in Toronto, the Hostess, the boncer, and the waitress did.
Hostess: Friendlly for about 1 min... when I told them that we were a party of 8 she laughed in my face... she kept avoiding us the whole time and after 1 hour of waiting in line we decided to go somewhere else, while leaving she had the nerve to tell the bounces " Thank God they are LEAVING"
Bauncer: The most unfriendly individual who could barely stand up... and frankly i don't belive that he can go up the stears
