This place is by far one of THE WORST places I have ever been to. First, there was ONE waitress working the entire place!!!! WHAT?! We couldnt even get a drink ordered for a FULL 15 minutes, then while we waited for the ONE waitress to chat to bar patrons and ring a few people out, she brought our WATERED DOWN DRAFT. Not kidding, this place waters their draft down. Im making a call to Brewers Retail about this next. When we FINALLY ordered our food, It took ONE HOUR AND 23 MINUTES TO ARRIVE!!!! The food here is discusting. Bland, cold, all frozen and brought in. Nothing in this place is made on site. we all needed refills on our drinks...no one came...we had to flag the one waitress down and beg for more watered down beer, which arrived 10 minutes later. We were at this dump for almost 3 hours. The atmosphere in this place is so odd as well. It is NOT a pub, its a bland bright diner at best. It reminds me of a cross between a bright cafeteria with elevator music and a gas station diner. This place is TERRIBLE. I give it another 6 months before the doors are closed. You CANNOT serve watered down undersized pints or beer, have a staff of ONE, have food that is terrible in an atmosphere that is boring and odd.......people wont come back and they will tell people not to go. PS. after waiting 15 minutes for drinks and another 15 to just get our order taken, we were talking about leaving. do yourself a favour and leave if you ever visit this place
Fraser's On 2nd is another "pub" in Hanover... The "pub" is very sterile, white, not much atmosphere, reminded me of my dentists office. A lot cleaner than "Shenanigans" ever was but at least it had some form of personality. The food is generic pub food with an attempt at a few "Irish" items but unfortunately nothing is/was spectacular (vegetables were always well beyond "cooked"). They do some things right, wings being one of it and they have the hottest "hot wings" around! The service was excellent, a cold beer whenever needed, no waiting. Friendly and very personable wait staff. Although I'm running half the menu down I would still choose Fraser's over Crabby Joe's any day. Food is better and service was great. On par with "Frankies" food with better service.
the food was OK, nothing special. My wife had the fish and I had a hot beef sandwich. everything was just average... we each had a drink so the total price of the meal was just over $30.00 I didnt even try the carrots that came with the meal because they were way overcooked. Some people (like me) like their mashed potatoes with butter and milk... not just the potato mashed, however I guess thats the way some like it.
we had the pleasure of celebrating st. Patty's day at Frasers with the intentions of just having dinner and a couple drinks, then carrying on to the next place, however we were having such a wonderful time there and as always the service was spectacular and we always feel so welcome and at home there. The Guiness was nice and cold for hubby and i enjoyed a cold beverage as well. My husband ordered the Irish stew which was on speacial and he LOVED it. Full of tender lamb and veg and potato and served in a huge yorkshire pudding bowl...i just had the wings, but i love them as so far i find them to be the biggest and best in town. We had a really good time and even sang a few kareoke songs! thanks for the good time and keep up the great hospitality and service....and i think the stew was a hit.! :)
when the new owners took over fromt he previous establishment ( shannanagons) they had their work cut out for them. They cleaned up the place and freshened it up and they keep it clean. The food is nothing spectacular just your basic pub grub but its decent and the price is right...they do have really good fish and chips though and their burgers are awsome (homemade and fresh cut fries) The service is awsome, waitress alwasy has a smile and very friendly with a great sense of humor. The owners always take the time to go around and speak to their customers which makes it very personal. I hope that they do well in this town and i continue to enjoy going there.
