Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the meal. Wonderful people serving, prompt service, fully explained menu, features and specials. And the value for the money spent was very reasonable. Would be a wonderful "date night" or even just a casual dinner. Portions were perfect size. I really loved the location, not in a strip mall, not on a "main drag", just a great neighbourhood location. Glad we have reasons to visit Brantford often, that's for sure. Although all was very yummy, the special was terrific...rich and sinfully delicious and was happy to "steal" a few bites from my daughter
There are many things that make a meal memorable. A welcoming atmosphere, caring and attentive staff and food that is extraordinary. You can find all of this and more at Trattoria Giuliana. Trattoria Giuliana once again surpassed expectations making our Saturday evening out wonderful. As usually the restaurant was busy but we were seated quickly and greeted warmly by the head server Anna. Within minutes our drinks we brought to our table and the special were given. The staff was willing to accomodate our requests so we were able to try different items. Marilyn always prepares a variety of delicious soups each night and the mushroom soup this evening did not disappoint. The only disappointment was when I reached the bottom of the bowl! Anna was always quick to replace our drinks and visit our table to ensure we had what we needed. Our dinner was wonderful. We had meat cannaloni and spaghetti carbanara. The chef did a fabulous job making a creamy, smooth carbanara sauce with just the right amount of garlice and pancetta. The staff at Trattoria Giuliana make you feel special and the food is out of this world. It's a place to call home when you want a truly authentic Italian meal! We joked with the server that the service and food were so good, we would have to send her flowers! We will be back soon!
We returned to Trattoria Giuliana this evening and had a fantastic dinner and experience. Anna, the head server was extremely friendly and helpful. She made recommendations from the menu and went out of her way to ensure we were happy with our table. She brought us our drinks quickly and promptly took our dinner order. When taking our dinner order, Anna was very flexible and allowed us to make changes to the special to ensure we got what we wanted to eat. Our garlic bread and soup came out piping hot and extremely tasty. The garlic bread had just the right amount of cheese and the soup was delicious. The pasta and chicken were outstanding, and Tony the chef did an amazing job preparing the food, so much so we felt that we needed to give him our compliments before leaving. We were both too full for dessert. Throughout dinner, Anna always made sure we had what we needed and that we were enjoying our meal. The food and the service were top notch. We will return again and again! thank you Anna and Tony for a wonderful evening!
As soon as you open the door, you are welcomed like a family member by the owner Marilyn and the server Anna. The service provided is excellent. Drink orders and appetizer order was taken quickly by Anna and both were brought out quickly. Anna brought us out a huge portion of hot, cheesy garlic bread...delicious! What can we say about the pasta...it comes to the table piping hot and you can tell great care is taken when preparing the homemade sauce each day. Meat canneloni is highly recommended! The serving sizes are generous and the presentation is very well appealing to the eye. The prices are very reasonable and we enjoyed talking with the friendly server. A wonderful experience!
As a special treat my in-laws decided to take me and my family out to this restaurant for a family dinner. We left our house at 5:35pm and walked down the street. After waiting 1/2 hour for our drinks, our server (name we don't know as she didn't tell us) took the orders. After another HOUR of waiting we left. Our food was not on the table and we were told it would be another 20 minutes. We had 2 children with us one of whom was EXTREMELY hungry and became restless. We were told that they would wrap up our food at no charge but we already had our coats on and left. The table beside us who came in after us had been served and had FINISHED their meals and were drinking their coffee. The service was completely horrible and I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. I understand that everything is made fresh, but it is also my understanding that fresh pasta takes less time than pre-made pasta.
Im new on this site so I hope this works. Ha-ha. We went in for dinner with 2 friends of ours, and weve been a few times before and it is always great. The service was awesome the waitors were very attentive and they seemed to have a little two man comedy show. The food was great, as usual. Surprised when they told us it was a 21 year old cooking. Really enjoyed our dinner. However at the end we went up to pay, and the woman that owns it was sitting at the bar eating and on her computer with a glass of wine. I thought it was good that she could relax while her employees did the work, but it appeared that she refused to help. She wouldnt do our debit so she got one of the young boys to ring it through for us. We conversed a bit and she appeared to be slurry her words and repeat a lot of what she said. Makes me wonder about the wine thing. Ha-ha. Either way it was a great night out, will return for sure!
I thought it was a small quiet place but the food wasn't as good as I was told by a friend. I found it very expensive for what I got. Staff not so friendly. We celebrated our 5th anniversary here and will never go back.
Went to this restaurant last night for my husband's work Christmas party. It was terrible. The food was tasteless. My husband and his boss ordered the trio special. The presentation was awful. It just looked like a bunch of noodles thrown on a plate with a little sauce on top. I ordered the linguine with mussels, shrimp and clams. It had no flavour. I didn't even finish it. When we got there we were sat with our group and it took 15 minutes before a waitress even came over to ask us if we wanted a drink. We asked for different drinks and everything we asked for they didn't have. I ended up drinking water. My husband's boss and his wife ordered caesars and it took 20 minutes to get it. Our tables were set up so that some people at one end of the table couldn't even see the people at the other end. We were put in an L shape with a pole in the middle. Overall, the food was tasteless and took forever to get. The service was awful. If you wanted a drink you had to wave a waitress down and it took 20 minutes to get it. Even pop or water. They never came to ask us if we wanted another drink we had to call them over. They took away appetizers that weren't even finished without asking if we were finished. Also, 3 of the people at the table ordered chicken parmesan and the chicken was paper thin with what looked like a processed piece of mozzarella cheese on top. So to sum it up the service was terrible, the food was bland and not plated very appetizingly. It was a nice enough looking restaurant inside. I would not return and the other 13 people with us said they would not either. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Trattoria Giuliana is a quaint little Italian restaurant located in Brantford, Ontario. Its cozy atmosphere and great, authentic Italian food make you feel like you are in Nona’s kitchen. Having a single owner with great family values, Trattoria is run will love and devotes all its time to ensuring customer satisfaction through great service. Being from Brantford I visit Trattoria quite often and have had the privilege of meeting the family. I love going there to enjoy great food or to just sit and share a bottle of wine with friends. The food at Trattoria is prepared by a professional chef who knows what real Italian food is all about. He makes sure that every dish he sends out is a representation of himself and the restaurant. My favourite dish to get at Trattoria is the gnocchi and I love pairing it with a big glass of pinot. I recommend Trattoria Giuliana to anyone in Brantford or passing through Brantford who wants to enjoy real Italian food, an awesome atmosphere, and friendly faces. Bring the family, go with friends, or even stop by if you want time to relax by yourself, it is perfect for everyone.
OK First things first I don't know who the hell would ever recommend this place and thank you very much for giving me and my wife a brutal taste of what you think Italian Cuisine tastes like. We walked in the door and thought hey a cute little place very dark but maybe personal and romantic. We sat at the table for 40 minutes without even being asked what we would like and while waiting noticed all the waitresses standing and sitting around the back carrying on conversations with each other instead of doing their jobs. Finally after we were asked what we would like we got some stone cold bread and butter brought to our table and yes we were very hungry by this point so we went through it quickly. Another 20 minutes go by and we were brought out another basket of cold bread. YAAAAAAAAY. Finally after an hour and a half of being there they brought us our apps. We got bruschetta and shrimp scampi. We weren't impressed. All they did is put tomatoes on hard bread, no seasoning, nothing. About half an hour goes by and we were brought our meals. Finally. Or so we thought at first. I don't know how anyone thinks bone dry Chicken Parm with processed cheese slices on top is suppose to be authentic I'm sorry but we have Italians in our family and nothing like this would ever be called fresh just like home food. Just like Nonna used to make. GIVE ME A BREAK. This food was DISGUSTING and would never wish it upon anyone. We were so badly Impacted that we got up with more than half of our food still on our plates, payed and walked out. NEVER AGAIN.
We weren't sure where to go one night and happened to come across this place. We walked in and it was packed. We waited at the door until the manager approached us. We asked if we could get a table. She asked if we had a reservation and we said no. She said that on busy nights, you need to make a reservation, but she was able to find us a table nevertheless which I thought was nice. The only thing was that we were seated in the corner beside the washroom. People were always going past us and bumping into us. We were given menus right away and the waiter took our order. It took about 15 minutes for our antipasto to come, but when it did, it was delicious! Everything was perfect! Then, we had to wait another 20 minutes for our pasta to come. When it finally came, it was piping hot, and cooked to perfection! The sauce was delicious and the pasta was great! We were definitely impressed with the food. In terms of going back, we are iffy on this place. If the service improves, then we will probably go back because the food is great.
Great homemade Italian food. Pasta was served piping hot, and the owner/chef went out of their way to accommodate us! Homemade and delicious, it does not get any better than this!
What a nice little place to go for dinner. Everything we ate was prepared perfectly. The music was very enjoyable and the staff are very attentive. This felt like we were in an Italian's home and they were showing off their cooking skills. We will never eat Italian anywhere else!
Bruschetta was awesome. Main course was awesome. Wine was awesome. The server who took our order was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and gave us some different options for our dishes. Both pasta dishes were amazing. The food is so fresh and the people are so friendly. When we got our bill we were surprised at how inexpensive such an amazing meal was. The owner and hostess is one of the many reasons we will continue to return. She goes out of her way to ensure we have everything we need. Love love love this place. Am going back tonight :)
When my wife and two sons visited trattoria we were very impressed. The food was amazing tasted just like my nonna used to make. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very polite. The atmosphere was also very unique you never see an old school Italian restaurant anymore and I'm glad we went there. Thanks trattoria
Imagine your favourite Italian Nonna is cooking your favourite Italian dish. Pasta, Lamb, Chicken, Veal. Especially delicious is the Caprese salad, a simple fresh tomato and basil salad. Whatever you order will be fantastic. Every visit is a special occasion. Fantastico!
Brantford's hidden gem. The atmosphere feels like your at a family gathering. This quaint eatery offers up the best Italian food we have had in a long time. The waitresses are friendly, service is great and the food is remarkable. It can be an itimate experience for two or a reunion with friends, whatever the occasion this little taste of italy will hit the spot.
Another visit to Giuliana's with newbies Jim and Sue. Another amazing meal, with outstanding service. Marilyn, Jennifer and Sue go out of their way to make sure that anyone that walks through their door is made welcome and is well taken care of. Our friends thoroughly enjoy their meal (as did we) and will be back. What restaurant have you been to lately, that the owner (Marilyn was the chef as well last night) comes out and greets every guest, truly wanting them to feel they are why she has this restaurant. Your table is yours for the evening, no one rushing you out. We were there for more than 4 hours, the last spent sharing a glass of wine with Marilyn. If you haven't been here, you are missing the best Italian meal ever.
Little hidden gem is what I think this place is. It was so wonderful and I was very pleased. My husband and I went there for our 11th wedding anniversary and I'll for sure go back. Don't judge a book by it's cover, once inside the atmosphere is cozy & quaint and the food - well 2 thumbs up!!! The tiramisu is to die for!!
