Rented a car for a day for $47 total. Simple inspection to start with assurance all surface dings were not a problem and wouldnt be charged against us as new renters. We had an uneventful day trip from Douglas Street pick up to Butchart and back again. Once car was dropped off, agents inspected car and said there was surface ding damage. They charged us over $800 and we did not damage the vehicle at all. This agency is running a fradulent scam operation. Do not use National.
I've been using National Car at this location for about ten years now, and have always had efficient, polite service.
I asked for a quote with all taxes, fees & charges & was quoted about $135 per week. At the airport I found these were not included. I was very clear when I asked for the rate, I wanted it to include everything! When I called they said it was all laid out in the rental agreement. Shame on me for not looking at the fine print. The rate should NOT have been other than what I was just quoted & 2 weeks later l also received a bill for $8 for 3 Litres of gas, REALLY?
Very rude staff. We rented a Car for 1 day, there was a mis communication about the time the car had to be returned, I thought id read that we could return anytime the following day as long as it was within business hours, so returned the car in perfect condition I might add at 5pm, with the store closing at 8pm I thought I was bringing it back earlier than needed. I was told I was 3 hours late so had to be charged a whole extra day, I told the 2 men that id read it somewhere on their website but they wernt interested, they wouldnt discuss with me and shoved the invoice in my direction and kept repeating how much I should pay them. I asked if I could could pay them for the 3 extra hours and they said it wasnt an option and that if I had a probkem to call the manager the next day. It had been a long tiring day and I was a girl on her own, knowing I didnt have the money in my account I actually broke down in tears, I was shocked at the way they treated me after this, with a raised voice one questioned if I was 'actually 'crying and after a min he asked me to leave. Feeling defeated of course I did and as I was walking away both men laughed at me. Yes I shouldnt have cried but thats no way to treat anybody, let alone a customer.
