Ben Huynh has always had a personal interest in healthy foods. "I invariably take the time to read the ingredients on product labels for myself and my family," he says. It’s no surprise then, that his store, Kitsilano Natural Foods, offers a wide selection of organic food and produce, much of it locally sourced.

"We serve a very price-conscious clientele," explains Ben, "and we always base our decisions on which food to buy for the store on both price and location. If we can get locally grown organic food for a good price‚and that always depends on the season— it is our preference to buy local."

In addition to fresh fruit and vegetables, Kitsilano Natural Foods is renowned locally for its health foods and baking ingredients.

"We have a deli in the store and we make healthy sandwiches to order for our customers and also salad rolls for people who follow a gluten-free diet,” says Ben.

Located in the health-conscious Kitsilano area of Vancouver, Kitsilano Natural Foods is also well known for stocking a number of vegan items, including black bean pasta and chickpea miso. Not to mention the tasty peanut butter made fresh in the store!
