Kawakubo Japanese Restaurant invites you to their establishment. You can get there not only by public transit but also by car and bicycle. The neighboring location is remarkable for its stores and parks.
I was very surprised to find such excellent quality Japanese food in a small town like this. They have a large menu that even includes a fair number of dishes for vegetarians.
This is one of the best Japanese restaurants in BC. The quality of the food is very good and therefore the taste is delicious. The same quality restaurant would demand a premium price in Vancouver, so the dishes are an excellent value.
Presentation of the food is very nice and the chef obviously takes pride in his work. I inquired and the kitchen chef and the sushi chef are both Japanese. The flavour combinations in the rolls were harmonious and supremely delightful.
The restaurant is not crowded with tourists and the staff said that not many tourists make their way there. Obviously a hidden gem and now my new favourite.
This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever eaten at. There is and excellent choice of different sushi and maki as well as sashimi. The fish is really fresh... Fresher than some sushi I've had in Vancouver! The dynamite roll is by far the best roll I have ver had. Prices are a little expensive, but not outrageous for the quality you get.
