You can create tiny baby blue chicks this Easter by using sugar-coated almonds. To make the tiny birds, purchase light blue sugar-coated almonds to serve as the body of the chick. Place them on a towel on a baking sheet, then use black icing and a tin paintbrush to dot two thin eyes on the bird. Add a small triangle of yellow icing under the eyes, and allow to dry. Once you're done, you'll have a bowl full of baby chicks to enjoy for the holiday.
This year, you can make a batch of festive crispy rice treats for the holiday. First, melt marshmallows and butter in a saucepan over low heat. Once the mixture has become a liquid paste, mix in puffed rice cereal and other pastel-coloured treats, like sprinkles, broken up sugar-coated almonds, or even holiday-themed candy-coated chocolate. Allow the mixture to cool overnight, then cut into different Easter shapes, like bunny rabbits or flowers.
Rabbits are one of the most prominent Easter symbols, so consider creating a carrot patch treat to enjoy on the holiday. Buy new terra cotta pots and wash and dry them thoroughly. Then, fill each pot with hummus. Next, take three small baby carrots per pot, and attach a piece of celery to the top of each using a toothpick. Plant them in each pot. The pots will look like small carrot gardens, and they'll be a healthy and delicious treat.
Brighten up your typical s'mores recipe this Easter by using pastel-coloured peeps, rather than regular marshmallows. Stack a piece of milk chocolate on a graham cracker, then place a peep on top and cover with another graham cracker. Squeeze the two crackers together to create a flat sandwich. For something even more fun for the springtime, light a small fire on Easter night, and roast your peeps before you add them to your s'mores. You'll get the same authentic campfire taste as a traditional s'more, with a bright Easter look.
