Not sure about the other reviewer, but after reading this review, I had to register and give an opinion on one of our favorite little take out places we know. We visit our cottage regularly about 2 kms from this "super" Chip Wagon, mostly in the summer months, and have many local friends who all rave about the food at George's (from what we understand, it's not the owner's name). The ice cream is great, and we order it EVERY time - judging by all the tall white ice cream bins and the ice cream menu sign out front, Reid's dairy is the supplier from Belleville. The burgers and fresh cut fries are fantastic, I'm not a fish lover, but our friends order their halibut fish & chips EVERY time we go. As for locals, our local friends said this place has been there for like 10-15 or more years, some of them claim to have gained weight from eating there so often, so have to disagree with the local opinion comments - though I guess any time you go to a small town, opinions will may vary! In our family opinion, it's a lovely place to eat, great atmosphere on the way to the local beaches and cottages, on a nice summer weekend. We would and have, recommended to anyone we know! Omg this place is an absolute Gem! My husband , myself and my mother inlaw were on our way from New Brunswick to Ontario. During a snow storm ( March 4th 2023) the owner G was amazing! The breakfast was the best I've ever had. The coffee is so so good! The customer service and hospitality we received here will be something we all talk and rave about forever! Been a few years since we were at Raxx and were pleasantly surprised this week. Nice renovations make the place look brighter than before and lots of options for seating, pool tables, bar area, TVs, etc. Food was surprisingly good, particularly the chicken wings that were well cooked, perfectly sauced and quite meaty. This was not a Wednesday night so not sure if the wing quality is better/worse/same on the night that wings are discounted. It was a pleasure to have the option of blue cheese dip with real chunks of cheese in it. Wish more places served this with their wings and/or pizza! :) The salad was a huge serving and very fresh ingredients. The grilled chicken was finely shredded and nicely flavoured. I eat a lot of chicken and salad and this was a surprisingly good one. Red wine vinaigrette was a nice option too. Service was a bit slow for refilling drinks and for bringing out the food considering the place was practically empty but the order came exactly as requested including a couple of customizations to the salad. The menu is straightforward and not too complicated nor too many items. Could use a fewer lower-fat items but realistically I wouldn't expect to find much of that on a sports bar menu so not a big deal. We were quite surprised at the food quality and would come back.
