I think the stars aligned when I went to Swiss Chalet a while back (more than a year ago). As always, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy without being stuffy or drab, and the service was quick (so quick I barely blinked and my food was there!). We had an AMAZING server who was around without hovering, and our food, as I said, was out within five minutes of ordering. This was, by far, the best service I have ever received in any restaurant. The server, in particular, was just absolutely incredible. She refiilled our water glasses when they were nearing empty, and it was like she was telepathic: she came with more napkins when things got a little bit messy! Overall, phenomenal. I took a date there for date night. A nice, large booth was offered to us, very romantic and appealing. The food was great in my opinion. Portions were very generous, and the flavour was more of a Canadianized Italian than authentic style. We both enjoyed or meal and the real treat came at dessert with the Chocolate Pizza - amazing and worth going again so I can introduce another to this delicacy. My first visit to The Feathery was almost 4 years ago, along with my brother and sister in law, whom live in St. Catharines. Everytime I come back for a visit we find our selves back dining there. However, my experiences there this past week were a hit and miss on service. Last night we actually asked to have our server changed as the waitress that was assigned to us us terrible. We were luck to have Lucinda, whom served us several times this week, sometimes twice a day......yes my family lives close. Green Acres is a family tradition for the last ten years. Each Good Friday and a handful of times throughout the year we travel from Niagara Falls, Ontario to Fort Erie for the sole purpose of eating their fish and chips. The service is always fantastic and the food reasonably priced and excellent. We'll be visiting again this Good Friday and my stomach is already grumbling.
