There are several paintball and laser tag facilities in Calgary and surrounding area. The action-filled fun and camaraderie of these games makes them especially popular group and party activities. Paint ball places typically rent out all the needed gear and ample ammunition is available for purchase.
Just west of Calgary on Highway 22 near Bragg Creek, Bragg Creek Paintball’s outdoor play area is open April through October. The rough and tumble geography of the course features trees as well as wood, tire and cement obstacles. When not spattering each other with paint, patrons are free to use the facility’s picnic tables, fire pits and barbecues (utensils included).
Rampage City’s massive indoor arena is open to paintballers 10 and up. Popular with novice players, Friday and Sunday nights feature discount admission and gun rentals. Purchase a membership for ongoing discounts. Two additional Rampage locations in nearby Millarville and Okotoks feature outdoor play areas. For groups, ask about bus service from Calgary.
This sprawling paintball and Airsoft field near the town of Cochrane is open to combatants year-round. Its 21 courses are set in and around forested areas and feature all sorts of obstacles including vehicles, a wooden castle and more. Retire to the barbecue pit and rest area between games for free hotdogs and drinks. Airsoft employs realistic guns and plastic BBs.
Just east of the intersection of Stoney Trail and Glenmore Trail Southeast, this family fun centre features go-karts and mini golf, indoor playground as well as an indoor laser tag facility.
A supply place with locations in Winston Heights-Mountainview and Manchester Industrial, Badlands Paintball carries paintball and Airsoft guns and pistols in profusion. Also shop for paintballs, masks, CO2 tanks, ammo hoppers and gear bags as well as apparel and more.
This mobile operation takes the paintball party to you. Within the city, you and your friends can play within designated public fields, while in rural areas, the game can set up on private land. The Alberta Paintball on Wheels season runs from the beginning of April through to the end of September, with some events open to the public (consult the APOW website for details). APOW also operates a forested play area (Pyro’s Playpen) near Cremona.
