Had a Viper remote started installed. Issues came up and I returned to the store on Faithful for warranty work. The installer had moved locations and I was forced to go to another location for service. Yes, your remote starter warranty is tied to where the installer works. Four months later the remote starter failed and I had to have it removed. Returned to the place of purchase, Faithful Ave, for removal. The store manager said that even though it was failing I had to pay to have it removed.
