As the popularity of Zen Le Pouvoir des Fleurs grew since its opening in 1992, the owners needed a helping hand. They invited a friend, Renaud Tremblay, to pitch in part time with odd jobs and it just so happened that his background in fashion design made him an excellent candidate for work in a flower shop. He quickly went from cleaning pots and cutting stems to assembling gorgeous bouquets from start to finish.
Renaud joined Carol Boivin, a floral artist and long-time employee at Zen, and purchased the boutique. "Zen had become known for offering original high-end bouquets made to order," says Renaud. "We wanted to continue that mission so we joined forces and became owners of the boutique."
This charming Avenue Mont-Royal boutique is a well-kept secret on the Plateau. Its pretty shop front, usually decorated with branches and pots, is a good reflection of what's inside. Florist Zen designs beautiful, modern bouquets of bold flowers.
