Le restaurant Le Coin G invites you to their establishment. They are open after-hours from Tuesday to Saturday. You may pay by MasterCard, Visa and cheque.
If vision and timing is truly king in business, you might say restaurateur Sébastien Masson picked a heck of a time to stumble upon Coin G. It was December 2008 and the global financial crisis was in full effect. Corporate spending accounts were being slashed, dragging most restaurants down with them. And the day after he secured the financing for a neighbourhood bistro that required a serious makeover, interests rates shot up. Still, Sébastien had decided to trust his gut, taste buds and observation skills.
“While I was still considering buying, I remember watching this woman sitting down and eating with her scarf on,” he explains over a beer. “And I thought to myself, ‘It’s freezing in here and people are still coming to eat anyway.’ So I took the chance, figuring their clients would stay.”
Today, Coin G continues to serve as culinary bedrock in the ever-changing Villeray, offering up a freshly made selection of affordable comfort food for office workers, young families and locals. “Running a restaurant is not complicated,” says Sébastien. “You just need consistently good food, great service and a nice place.”
