“We’re a specialized boutique that caters to a niche market, which remains ignored by big-box stores when it comes to photography,” says Jean Bardaji, Camtec Photo’s owner. “Sure, if someone is looking for a camera under $300, we have something for them. But where we truly are a staple of the industry is when it comes to performance cameras, professional equipment for photographers, and to everything that we do to support the photography community in Montreal.”
In addition to selling some of the finest, highest performance equipment and cameras in Montreal, Camtec also hosts workshops and conferences for anyone with an interest in photography. “We invite photographers from this country, from the United-States and from Europe to speak to our crowd,” describes Jean. “Selling equipment is what we do to keep the business running; our real mission here is to promote photography as an art, as a hobby and as a passion. And that's not just me ― the whole team here is very passionate about promoting photography.”
