Our founder Benny D'Amico emmigrated from Italy as a young boy and became involved in the optical field while still attending St. Michael's College School. In the early sixties there was a lack of optical service in the Italian community. Mr. D'Amico's desire to fill that void resulted in his becoming the first Italian-heritage Optician in Ontario. He officially established Roma Optical in 1968 in the Dufferin/Eglinton area.
