what a joke. Worst restaurant meal I've ever had. Course 1 - Carrot a roasted stub of carrot served with sliced raw carrots. We all had a good chuckle and decided this place might be taking itself too seriously but we decided to reserve judgement. 2 - Egg an undercooked poached egg on a bed of mayonnaise. Absolutely vile and stomach churning. Served with a fork and no bread, so quite impossible to eat, assuming you were so inclined. 3 - Gnocchi not bad I doubt waitress was Italian
My wife and I stopped for dinner about a month ago. I had ordered the sausage and stewed tomatoes to try something different and was very surprised at how tasty it was. I remeber the beer selection was on the poor side. I do not remember them having any draft beer available. The service was very good and the flourless cake I had for desert was just incredible. Whoever the in-house person was that makes it did a fabulous job. I would definitley come back again.
What a fun spot. Staff is GREAT - truly. Food is fun - everyone can find something they want to eat. Not everything is GREAT (food wise) - but a good portion of it is fabulous. Guys - ditch the mint risotto - eek @ my friend who even ordered it - bad bad bad. Would be great as an accompany to some main protein - but ..yick in a big bowl on it's own. Ribs - good - sometimes amazing ..sometimes a bit dry - and 'good'. Overall a really really fun spot with great food..great menu ..and really fun awesome service staff. As a foodie - would recommend it without hesitation - for a casual night out with friends..a birthday celebration (they handle those really well) - definately go try it - it's worth the trip to Eglinton and Yonge :)
We ate at Five Doors North for Summerlicious. Very quaint atmosphere. It was a set menu for Summerlicious and everyone in our group was satified. I loved my ribs and potato salad. Bread was great, and the creme brule was excellent. I found the service to be very rushed- however, I understand that it was Summerlicious and they likely wanted to get us in and out b/c we were getting the discount. However, the restaurant wasn't full, so it would have been nice to slow down the service and allow us to enjoy our wine. All around great experinece, would definitly go back. Very reasonable prices. The staff are quirky, and amusing, in a positive way.
Great food with unique little twists that actually taste good. Had the avacado bruschetta, bbq ribs with "hickory sticks" and the lemon maple cheesecake. All were very good and the service was great. The atmosphere is very unique with lots of table lamps hung and chained to the ceiling. What lacks in fancy furniture is made up for with tasty food.
