Très sympathique, situé dans un immeuble historique. Décor chaleureux, menu typiquement italien. Excellent service et rapport qualité/prix!
This place is amazing! We had wanted to go for dinner one night but we weren't able to get in because of the large amount of people. We then decided to go for breakfast, boy were we glad we went! The brunch menu is offered from 10-2 on the weekends. The place wasn't overly crowded, which made the experience more enjoyable. We ordered the Siena breakfast special, which included a cheese and bacon omelette, hand cut potatoes, two pieces of nine-grain toast, and fruit. The omelette was AMAZING! It was filled with loads of cheese and pieces of bacon which tasted crunchy. The potatoes needed more salt, but they were also delicious. The toast came with a side of peanut butter and jam which made it taste exceptional! The service was also wonderful, we had a server with blonde hair who even agreed to take our photo. The price was also very good, only $11 for each of our meals, not too bad considering the excellent food, service and atmosphere! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
This place was disgusting. The food was served cold. The staff looked like they hated there job, our waitress didn't even smile once let alone acknowledge us throughout our time spent there. We constantly had to get up to get her. There are a lot of BUGS in the restaurant and found hair in the food. I highly don't recommend anyone going there, you will disappointed. And the worst part is, throughout that torturous meal, we still ended up paying for it, when we didn't even eat the meal.
My husband and I come here sometimes on the weekends to get away from our small town! We usually come to this restaurant, because we've always had a great time here. The wine list is really something special and the pizza is THE BEST. I love that you can watch your pizza being made infront of you. I've had other dishes there, not just pizza, and they have been good as well, but not mind-blowing. I just really love their pizza, and their desserts are great too. We've always had wonderful and attentive service here as well.
I have been to this restaurant only a few times, but always enjoy my time their. The staff is very attentive friendly and very professional. The decor and atmosphere is very nice but the tables are a little close together. Extensive wine list and nice menu. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which was good but lacked abit of seasoning. My finance ordered the surf and turf and very much enjoyed it. Nice presentation as well. The tirmasu was amazing and great tasty way to end off our meal with an espresso.
One should not leave after a "lunch" with colleagues fuming mad after not get their meal, especially after speaking to the "manager". The table took a long time to get served all the food and by the time someone came to tell me my order had been given to someone else, most of my colleagues had eaten half their food. The "reorder time" meant that they would all been done by the time my food came. (Yes, we were a large party but the place was empty - that should say something.) That is a lot of fun and always awkward - being the only person without food. Then the server gets rude when I say I am not willing to eat after everyone else is finished and implies that since the reorder has already started, I should be compelled to wait and eat it. I cancelled my pizza at this point (I was offered another pizza which had been sitting around for some time but it contained something I am allergic to so I passed). After paying the bill of my colleagues ($151) (and leaving no tip), I run into the manager on my way out (to get a sandwich down the street so I don't have to work the rest of the day without food). Indifference to the siutation and making excuses for his staff - I guess it is my fault again (yes, for having gone in there in the first place). Apparently, after I paid for my 6 colleagues and left, the server had the gall to give a supplementary bill to my colleagues as she forgot to charge me for a ginger ale I had (or noticed the lack of a tip)!
I am from Brampton, Ontario which is right next to Woodbridge (one of the largest Italian populations in Canada). This is the fist Italian restaurant I had dinner at after my move to Ottawa. The food is not really authentic Italian food. It is just a restaurant that serves sort of Italian food. The gnocchi was mushy and the cream sauce was too oily. The food is expensive and I would rather venture out to the Glebe or Westborough for better Italian food. Not a repeat only because I enjoy authentic Italian food. T
I've been here several times and the food is always good. Im surprised with the number of negative comments, but they can't satisfy everyone right. I find that what ever I order, it's always delicious. The pizza is homemade and you can actually see the guy making it. You ask for extra tomatos on the pizza and they do it for you. Great service.
We had been going to this restaurant for about 3.5 - 4 years and were ALWAYS happy with the food and service. Then there were changes, big changes and I don't like change, almost all new people, new faces everywhere. So we went to other restaurants for 6 or so months, we finally went back on June 06/08 and they have their groove back. We will start going back again and hope that it remains up to it's previous standards for which they received all the awards for in the past!!
Very ordinary, very dissapointing. There are so many very good Italian restaurants in Ottawa, this one does not deserve a second visit.
The fact that my sicilian friend loves going there says alot! The food is fresh, the prices are great and the ambiance is lovely. I go there every 2nd month and it is often the same waiter. He is very helpful and knows his wines!!!
Very nice pleasant place, not comfortable on the chairs though Iarge lady here and i could have used a cushion) anyhow, we had the a great evening overall. Surf and turf was'nt like the menu said: lobster tail but it was a smaller langoutine tail: i was dissapointed by that....
Absolutely one of the worst meals I have ever had. Venison ordered rare came well done, tough and tasteless. Three small overcooked cold scallops. Beet salad was good but needed a saw or at least a steak knife to cut it. Wait staff was ok but never bothered to ask how the meal was. Four others at my table ordered the same special and it was equally as bad. Alot of money for a terrible meal.
Unbelievable food and great staff! The wine list is absolutely amazing! Would recommend to anyone
When I visited Vittoria Trattoria for the first time I was very impressed. I've been many times over the last eight (THAT'S RIGHT! EIGHT!) years, and they almost always hit the spot. There have been a couple sub-par performances in the times I've been, but those have been full house evenings where clearly they were just too busy. Wine list amazing, menu very good. I now go to the Riverside location once a week as it is closer to my home. Menu is a bit different, but I find it a relaxing atmosphere (a must see dining room for the chlostrophobit diner) and the wait staff are sincere and knowledgable. As far as I'm concerned, they are the most consistantly good restarant in Ottawa. I'd rather spend my money here and get what i want 9 out of 10 times than go to Preston or the Market and leave with a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figurativly) and an empty wallet. Think about it, good food and service for 100 dollars, or bad food and service for 80? You do the math. Highly recommended.

A trattoria is less formal than a ristorante. That is what makes Vittoria Trattoria an ideal spot for those who want some authentic Italian cuisine but don’t want to pay authentic Italian prices. This location in the ByWard Market also offers a group menu for lunches, making it an ideal office lunch location.
View this Smart ListThis ByWard Market restaurant was opened by two brothers who were inspired by their nonna’s cooking. Vittoria Trattoria has now become well known for fine Italian dining, an extensive wine list of over 600 labels (in a floor-to-ceiling glass wine cellar) and, of course, their award-winning sommeliers. Give the signature pasta alla nonna a try: penne with grilled chicken, green onion, red peppers and baby spinach is tossed in a sherry parmesan herb cream sauce.
