“I’ve been asked to do Mohawks, line cuts and unusual poodle cuts,” says Renee Duckworth of Tangles Pet Grooming. “I do what my customers ask.” Renee is like the ideal hairdresser; one who listens to what you ask for and does what you want rather than going off on her own tangent. Her four-legged clients not only end up looking great, but with Renee's mobile service, they do so in the reassuring environment of their own homes. “Dogs like getting bathed at home," says Renee. "There are no unsettling strange people, dogs or smells like there are in a grooming salon."
Renee does full grooming and nail trimming and she brings all the supplies with her. All her client needs to provide is a carpet-free space where she can bathe the dog. “I’ve groomed dogs in kitchens, bathrooms and, in the good weather, on the patio. So long as I can tidy up easily afterwards, it’ll work for me.”
Renee also washes cats (brave lady!) and clips the ‘toenails’ of parrots, lizards and rabbits. No matter what pet you bring in, Renee is happy to give referral discounts and loyalty gifts to all clients who return on a regular basis (for a year or more). “I feel returning loyal customers deserve a high-five and a nice gift,” says Renee. “Referring customers are great for business and if a client refers someone to me that books, then on their next visit, they get 10 per cent off their next grooming.”
