I'm not a very big fan of seafood, but I was won over by the incessant advertisements for Lobsterfest. Gotta say it was the best dining decision made in a long time. This location was opulently decorated with wood interiors and it mainly had booth seating. After walking past a decorative stack of firewood outside, I was pleased to see a real fireplace inside. After ordering entrees we were surprised to also get salads, potato sides, and these delicious little warm biscuits. The Lobster Trio was fantastic. The tail was meaty and came with plenty of butter, though it was unsalted butter and I had to add salt from the shaker to taste. Garlic shrimp were exceptional. The most remarkable treat was the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese that rounded out the trio. It was so rich and flavourul that I could not finish mine even though by every gastric impulse I had wanted to. Soda pop has to be remarked on, it was rich and sweet the way fountain pop should be. Sheldon was our server, and he did an amazing job. All other staff were friendly and courteous as well, which made it a beyond perfect atmosphere.
I ordered the fire grilled steak. It was one of the best steaks I ever had! It was so juicy and seasoned and just delicious. THeir chocolate cake was amazing too! I loved it! However, we were at the bar and the waitress/bar tender gave poor service. We ordered take out. It was not busy in the bar, no one but us and another table. No one was at the bar. The bartender/waitress told us that she'd be with us in a minute. Then she left the bar and returned 5 minutes later. We expected she would take our order then. Nope. Then she started filling drinks and said she'd be done soon. Then she walked away with them. THen she came back and we thought she'd take our order then. Nope. She went to the other end of the bar and started talking to a waiter. Then filled a couple drinks for him. We started walking out of the restaurant, and then, only then, she said: "Hi sorry about that, what would you like" Ugh!! How rude!! Well we ordered steaks and shrimp. Two entrees and cakes. It took about 20 mintues from then and we had already waited 10 for her to take our order, so takeout turned into 30 minutes. Then when we got the food, I checked the bad and she gave us only 3 of the biscuits. I told her that usually we get more and she said the she usually just gives two. I mentioned that inside it's refillable (the bread basket). And she said yes but only in the restaurant and that they usually only give 2 but she gave 3. Needless to say, I'm not sure we will come back again. Maybe dining in would be better, but I don't know.
I had not eaten at Red Lobster in years and figured I would try it. We ended up going for a very early dinner around 4 pm on a Saturday. The best time to go because the dinner rush had not started yet. We were seated in a booth very quickly. The server introduced herself and got us started with drinks. We ordered a red lobster signature pizza. We got it fairly quickly. There were a good amount of toppings. It was a very thin crust and the edges of the pizza had been slightly burned. I ordered the seaside shrimp trio. The other two people I dined with chose create your own feast. One had fried shrimp and alfredo shrimp pasta. The other fried shrimp and stuffed sole. We were then given an option for sides. I had french fries, my friends had mashed potatoes and broccoli. I thought the large variety of sides such as coleslaw, soup or broccoli at least offered a healthy option. We were then told to order a type of salad which came before the entree. I had caesar and my friends had garden salad. We were also given warm biscuits. The only thing that did bother me about the biscuits is that they were overly salty. I could taste the salt and felt they were just trying to get us to drink water to fill us up more. I couldn't see any salt dumped on them, I guess it was baked in. The manager walked by and were asking people how they were doing and if they needed anything. It was nice to see a positive manager presence. We had a different waitress bring us our food. She had a giant tray and had brought a mini table to put it down on. I was happy to know that they weren't going to drop the food everywhere. She told us not to touch the edges of the plates because they were hot. By the time I had my entree I was already full. Most of my seaside shrimp trio was put into a doggy bag. The waitress actually did it for me which surprised me. I'm use to doing it myself. I even got some extra shrimp sauce. There was definitely no room for desert. By the way their take out containers are microwavable and dishwasher safe! Finally a restaurant that understands the annoyance of dumping your left overs on a plate and then heating it up. It took me 3 meals to finish my seaside shrimp trio. Even heated up it still tastes good. Good value. I will be returning to this location to celebrate my 2 year anniversary. I also found a coupon. Overall a bit pricey but you get good value for it.
I've been going here a couple times year for a long time. The food is always good and so is the service. I usually go for lunch because it is less busy and the meal sizes are still more than enough yet cheaper and lighter than dinner. Weekends are busy all day.
This was the first time trying seafood for me, so I wouldn't know if it was good or bad. In terms of personal satisfaction of taste I didn't really enjoy the food too much but this can be a result of not having an interest in sea food in general. I had a shrimp entree and tried their nacho starter appetizer. The presentation of the place and the food was good however I didn't enjoy the food (again, could be personal disinterest in the food). The service was great; we were looked after and greeted consistently. At one point we were greeted by a lady not in the uniform which ironically I thought was a customer at first asking if we were having a good time - later realized she was the manager. The reason we went to this place was because we were in a nearby hotel visiting Niagara Falls from Toronto.
I love this place! The biscuits are awesome (and never-ending!!). I always order the steak and shrimp dinner as it is the best value steak around (I know... it's a seafood restaurant, but people should know about this steak!) The steak is always done to perfection the way I ordered it, and the one time it wasn't was actually the reason I keep coming back to this particular restaurant. I normally have my steak well done. I wasn't going to say anything, but one time it came more of a medium rare. The waiter stopped by after delivering the meal (as they always do here) to get drink refill requests and ask how everything was. He specifically asked if my steak was done to my liking, so I mentioned it wasn't well done. He immediately said he would have that taken care of, and asked for my plate to have it cooked properly. The chef himself returned in good time with a perfectly done steak, fresh potato and his apology (which I insisted was not necessary). Later the manager stopped by to see if the steak was satisfactory. It certainly was, and I let him know how much I appreciated the service. He gave me a free dessert and a coupon for my next visit! Wow! Where else do you get service like that?? Not at most other restaurants, as I can vouch for.
LOve the food. The biscuits are to die for can't eat just one!!!!!
this has been my favourite restaurant since ive been 6 years old. it is worth but ALWAYS packed, especially on weekends. love it.
Took some relatives to the falls and stuff and decided to hit this up on the way back. Entire meal took 3 hours, and we weren't served anything in the first hour and half, finally got appetizers after that time and complaining to the manager AND having the hostess confirm we seated well over an hour ago. After over 2 hours for the main course, the manager finally decided to comp 2 of the kids meals. Food was ok, but certainly not worth the wait, especially after a long day walking around.
crab legs, were FULL of water! so much for getting your moneys worth
We haven't been to Red Lobster in at least 10 years. I'm so glad we wandered in last night. We sat at the bar and enjoyed it so much we decided to just eat right there. The coconut shrimp had this Pina Colada dipping sauce that was awesome. Everything was very tasty right down to the basket of biscuits. Staff was very friendly and everyone seemed to get along so good, it was nice to watch. Lynn our server was fantastic. We'll be back for sure.
