Would like to see a breakfast special on the menu. Other restaurants have breakfast specials and they usually include pieces of fresh fruit on the plate. Presentation looks good, but best of all it tastes good! I would go more often it this was an option.
Found the prices for breakfast to be a bit high. About $12-13 for most items on the menu. Also so many options that it makes one's head spin. Would prefer to have smaller portions and pay less.
I visited Smitty's recently for breakfast. I was in the neighbourhood and decided to stop by. I have been here before and have never really had any complaints. The food was not good, neither were the drinks. What I was most thrown aside with was the (inflated) prices of the meals we ate. I ordered an apple juice and it tasted like water. The meal I ordered cost 11 dollars, as did that of the other two members in the party. Besides paying 11 dollars for a lukewarm meal, I ended up paying 4 dollars for a glass of juice. Also, there was a hair in one of dishes. I think the food here is overpriced for the quality. I ended up paying 50 dollars for 3 people to have breakfast. The service is decent and the waiters or waitresses are kind in meeting your needs. The atmosphere is decent as well. I noticed that the floors were dirty (there was low traffic) and that under the tables were also dirty.
The first few times I came here, I really enjoyed it. The food tasted great and it was pretty filling. But the stuff they have here is pretty much glorified fast food. They have the diner classics, burgers, fries, roast beef sandwiches and others. Unless you really like something on their menu, I don't really see a reason to keep coming here over and over. It's nice that you can have breakfast and lunch whenever, but the menu is just too limited
My family and I dine out quite often and even if Peter (favourite waiter) is no longer there, we continued to go as the food & prices were still desirable. We were shocked with our last visit there. It was a Tuesday evening, just before 5:00 p.m. The waitress, who was not very polite, took our drink order and came back to take our food order. My husband ordered breakfast, my daughters and I each wanted the mushroom soup which was the soup of the day for Tuesday and they ordered a club sandwich with no mayo. Both girls made sure that the waitress heard that they did not want mayonnaise on their sandwich. She wasn’t sure if she had enough soup for all of us and said, “I’m not sure if I have 3 soups left, I’ll see if I can scrap enough out.” I found that a little disturbing as we were there early and I couldn’t understand how they would be out of soup already. I asked the waitress if she could go and find out as it would determine what I was going to order. When the waitress returned she said that she only had enough soup for 1. We disappointedly decided to forget about the soup and I ordered a sandwich & fries with gravy on the side. She brought us our drinks (almost spilling mine & my daughter’s hot chocolate was lukewarm). I mentioned to my husband that the service was slow and not up to par. After what seemed like an eternity, we finally received our food. As the waitress placed the club sandwich on the table I couldn’t help but notice the mayonnaise oozing out between the slices of toast. I said, “Excuse me, but they ordered their club with no mayo.” Her response was “Oh Damn. Well at least keep the fries and I’ll get another sandwich.” The waitress asked if I would like some vinegar or ketchup for my fries and I said, “No, I would like the gravy on the side that I ordered.” My husband started eating his breakfast & the girls started on their fries. I looked down at my sandwich and saw something crawling on it. I said to my husband that there was a bug crawling on my sandwich. He couldn’t believe it so I actually picked it off my sandwich, placed it on his napkin and sure enough it was still moving. We brought the bug to the waitress’ attention and she actually picked it up and squished it between her fingers and killed it. At this point, I couldn’t see any alternative but to get up and walk out. My appetite was completely ruined. This was ridiculous I couldn’t believe this was happening. She then turned to me and said, “You want me to bring ya another sandwich?” I said, “No. I’m done. My appetite is gone.” My husband asked if he could speak to the manager and the waitress turned and walked away without even apologizing. We waited but when no one came, my family and I got up and walked out. We can guarantee that we’ll never go back. To bad we have over $20.00 accumulated on a v.i.p. card that’s going to go to waste. I refuse to subject my family to that kind of food ever again.
i went to the smittys in Kingston,Ontario, Canada and i love going there for dinner and i made a new friend his name is Andrew he is so cool and funny
I always recieve great service! I am a frequent customer at Smitty's, where I tend to go as a study break for a meal. The staff are always very nice and accomodating; they allow me to study whie I eat and they generally never rush me (the GM sometimes makes me feel a little rushed but he doesn't know me like the other staff do). Will definitely be back.
We were not blown away by the food...the prime rib isn't what you would expect of "Prime Rib" and the rest was ordinary but it was a nice and easy way to get out for dinner with a toddler. The servers and other patrons were very friendly. My son's milk came in a sippy cup which was a nice surprise and the shake your own sprinkles ice cream made his night :) We may return for breakfast as a family, but not for date night lol
breakfast is great there.....large variety some unique dishes..always servd fresh and prompt..attentive servers
I've been coming here for months, I am generally served by the same server, and I have had the great fortune of being seated in a different servers area this time - From the get go I realized it was going to be a very interesting dining experience. Our server was incredibly cheerful, and most accomodating to my 4 year old child. The pressures of my child being extremely hyper were taken care of by our server because he interacted with my child instead of directly dealing with me and ignoring my child. We had a wonderful experience as even when our drinks were getting low, we had new drinks instantly there for us. I will most surely be coming back and my child cannot wait to see Peter again!
Food was generally excellent. Salmon could have been a bit more spicy. I missed a spontaneous refilling of my water glass. Apart from that reasonably quick and friendly service.
WE WERE GREETED AND SEATED POMPTLY . OUR SERVER WAS EXCELLENT . THE MANAGER CAME TO OUR TABLE TO MAKE SURE WE WERE GETTING THE QUALITY OF SERVICE & FOOD WE EXPECTED . OUR 7 YEAR OLD GUEST WAS MADE TO FEEL IMPORTANT AND VERY SPECIAL . SHE WAS TREATED LIKE A "REAL PERSON" , AND OUR SERVER MADE A "BIG DEAL" ABOUT HER JUST COMING FROM HER VIOLIN LESSON . A VERY DEFINITE POSITIVE BENIFIT TO OUR LOCAL COMUNITY !.
Been here MANY times. Food is always good and quick. Great service! I would recommend them.
