Picking out the perfect dance outfit has never been more fun for moms than at this combination dancewear and activewear store. While twinkle toes is getting fitted for her ballet flats, mom can slip away and pick out a new outfit from the racks of trendy women’s activewear clothing lines on the opposite side of the store.
Footloose Dancewear & Apolline Activewear opened in 2010. Owner Joan Brachman has always loved fashion but got into dancewear thanks to her granddaughter, who is a dancer. When the neighbourhood’s dancewear store closed down, Joan recognized the demand from parents who hated having to go to downtown Toronto or Mississauga to purchase quality dance shoes and leotards. She decided to open her own store.

Excellent customer service. Very friendly. Really nice dancewear
I have found the staff here very helpful for measuring up my daughter’s dance footwear, ensuring she was sized up correctly. A sweet shop too with lots of cute dance accessories.
We stepped to this store for the first time.I have found a pair of shoes at a reasonable price and, after confirming the amount, asked staff to put them aside for one hour, just the time needed to go home to pick up my wallet. We drove back to the store to finish the transaction but to my surprise the woman gave me the price 50% higher then initially indicated by another staff. I left without buying, just wasted some time. Not a nice experience.
Pretty disappointed with my first experience here. They have very limited stock of dance wear and a very restrictive return policy. Be VERY careful when making a purchase. I felt pressured to purchase some leg warmers, and the sales woman very helpfully took them along with my other items to the front to "ring them up" only to find out after paying that they were almost $45. Tried to return the leg warmers right away, but they refuse to give refunds (even though I had JUST purchased them seconds before!) The store only offers store credit or exchanges.
The only reason I made my third attempt at shopping for dance shoes here is it's the closest place to my home. The sales people are rude and condescending. I went in this time for adult tap shoes. One of the two sales people actually gasped when I told them what size I would need- seriously ?! you work in a women's clothing and shoe store and you're audibly gasping at a size. Then when I mentioned I'd need to put my orthotic in the other one gave a condescending look and tells me it's impossible to put them in tap shoes. When I ask why not (I know you can because I do it with my old pair of lace ups), she proceeds to explain that it's because tap shoes are hard and they won't fit. Instead of politely inquiring what kind of orthotics I have, or just admitting that she wasn't sure if they'd fit, she's just rude and ill informed. I just walked out, I'd rather drive 30 minutes to the next closest dance wear store and give them my business. It's a shame that these women have not learned by now to treat people nicely and with manners. They are both old enough to know better.
