I was a good driving customer of State Farm for years. They no longer exist in Canada. We State Farm customers were picked up by Certas/Desjardins Insurance for home and auto insurance. I was hit as a victim of a hit-and-run recently in Ottawa,investigated by OPS,with dashcam using eyewitnesses,with very serious injuries,as diagnosed by doctors,so far. I have been treated totally disrespectfully with communication,process,healthcare and mindgames,as a single lady of integrity.
Found out two days ago our snowmobile which I had paid insurance on in DEC was actually not insured. They decided to put the money towards the truck insurance which wasnt due for another month. We were fortunate that nothing happened with the snowmobile during this time. This is the second major screw up. They get no more chances, will be changing carriers.
I have not received any type of communication from them since November of
last year ever since they took over our policy for car insurance. I don't even know if they received the last payment that I had sent them. I WILL DEFINITELY BE CHANGING INSURANCE COMPANIES.
very nice to talk with about my accident,however the agent has not returned 2 phone calls in regard to actually having the repairs done. Definitely looking into a new company after having been with State Farm for approximately 25 plus yrs.
This insurance company is reporting an accident claim on my vehicle under a PREVIOUS OWNER!!!!! I never had auto insurance with them and I bought my car brand NEW 9 months ago. Called them many times and they said they don't have any managers I could speak with or a fraud investigation team..... finally got a hold of the underwriting team I think, they said they will be calling back but never did. And they are unable to search for this claim but I have documents that they have confirmed this
After Certas bought the auto portion of State Farm my rates skyrocketed so in June I cancelled all my policies. They continued to take funds from my bank for four months with no policy in effect. I contacted my State Farm agent and the deductions stopped however to date there seems to be no response to efforts to recover over $600 taken after the policy cancellations.
Cancelled my tenant insurance in May as I had moved out of the house. I was told that it had been cancelled, was thanked for my business, and I hung up. 2 months later I find out that they continued to charge me monthly after telling me my policy had been cancelled. Now I've been trying for hours to no avail to get ahold of someone who can help me. Would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
After 20 years of paying my car insurance every 6 months directly from my bank account (and never missing a payment) after Certas bought State Farm my only option now is pay in full or provide 2 post dated checks. No one can tell me why paying direct from my bank account every 6 months is any different from giving post dated checks. You need to seriously consider changing your policies on this or risk losing many customers.
