The Toybox on West Broadway in Vancouver is Western Canada's oldest toy store. It's been in business for over 40 years, although in 2013 they closed in their original location only to reopen in 2014 just across the street.
Their new space is themed like a toy factory with lots of subtleties to discover. Those include a play area for kids, a remote control play train, an “assembly line,” lots of stroller space and a nostalgia window. All that and the store is also bursting with great toys for kids young and old.
“Our speciality is finding the right toy for the right child,” explains co-owner Misti Mussatto, “and we love when adults feel the nostalgia of being in a toy store, so we always make sure there's something for them too — a jack in the box, Spirograph, Etch A Sketch, retro candy.”
