A longtime fixture in Vancouver’s trendy Kitsilano community, Darby’s Pub has stayed true to its roots. “Everyone is welcome whether they want to wear their three-piece suit or their board shorts and a tank top,” says Brendan Bonfield, general manager of this community pub. “You can drink a nice bottle of Blasted Church wine or a pint of really nice Northwest craft beer, or you can come in and have a bottle of Budweiser and watch the game.”
This neighbourhood gastropub is home to Kitsilano’s largest selection of craft beer and ciders on tap. And their locally sourced menu features a great mix of traditional pub fare and more creative items, including Executive Chef AJ Jackson’s Best in Chow-featured Moroccan wings, and his specialty duck confit poutine.
During Vancouver’s glorious summer months, the large rooftop patio makes Darby’s a great spot to soak up the rays. With plenty of screens to catch games and weekly events such as trivia, karaoke and open mic, you can be sure you’ll find a casual, fun atmosphere when you step inside Darby’s any night of the year.

I've been going to Darby's for over 10 years now. It's had it's ups and downs, and right now I think it's in an up place. The food has suddenly gotten a lot better in the last few months, better than some of chain restaurants. The room is a bit old and dated, but in the evening it has that feeling of being in a buddies basement bar-but with good food. I would certainly recommend Darby's as an alternative grown up dining environment for anyone in Kitsilano. You get food better than the big box chains, cheaper, and in an environment you don't feel the need to get dressed up for.

One of the oldest bars in the neighbourhood, Darby’s is a popular haunt — especially in summer when locals head on up to the rooftop patio. While it might not boast the same stunning views you’d get along the water, it’s removed from the street and offers an escape from the bustle of everyday life. It also has one of the best selections of craft beer in town, making it the perfect spot to try something new.
View this Smart ListA long-time haunt for many a bar fly and carouser looking for a cheap place to tie one on, Darby’s recently underwent a massive renovation, becoming the preeminent craft beer destination on Vancouver’s West Side. With more than 30 taps, the craft beer selection is surpassed by only a few bars in the Lower Mainland. The selection rotates frequently and features a variety of local favourites along with weekly cask nights.
