Ignite Café is one of Langley's premiere boutique restaurants. The intimate spot is known for its exciting dishes served in a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Executive chef and owner Dan Trites is the man behind the culinary operation. He and his wife opened Ignite in 2011 with a vision of a restaurant that did things differently. Dan already had a loyal clientele from his years as a caterer and private chef and was thus in the perfect position to succeed with Ignite Café in his hometown of Langley.
The restaurateur launched his career in the industry at the age of 16. "I started as a dishwasher at a restaurant, and worked my way up to being a chef when I was 19," he recalls. "And I've been grinding it out ever since." Over the years, Dan has gained the expertise to understand what’s working and what’s not at any restaurant. He resolved to do things right with Ignite, from achieving the perfect dining room atmosphere to sourcing the highest-quality ingredients.
