    I find the proprietor to be forthright and knowledgeable. he has provided repair service for our sewing machine, lawn mower, and chain saw. When I read some of the other reviews, I do wonder how complicit the writers are in rousing an abrupt response from a business owner who has no patience for entitled behaviour or other such nonsense. I will return to BJ's with more business when required.

    Took a chain saw in for repair - the clutch was jammed/stuck. Picked it up and I asked if it now worked good - I was told they didn't start it, because they were only told to free-up the clutch, not to make sure it worked... Are you kidding me ! DO NOT take anything to this place for repair. Very rude.

    They charged double for parts listed online at retail and gave no quote for additional work. The plug was not replaced. They quoted that work will be complete in one day, two tops, but I never received the mower back for ten days. For the amount you would pay for a tune-up and cable at this shop, you would be better off buying new.

    No estimate given, just states he's completed what you described,rude rude wouldn't start and stop the mower to show it works un less I go around the block to see it (I can see the mower I the shop out back from reception) but still demands I go around,no ill stand here I can see it just start and stop, finally hehas a guy do as I requested His work from last year was shoddy so that's why I was here to fix his work UT again rude Used the mower4 to 5times only since he worked on, worst service

    Really wish I had checked customer reviews prior to taking my pressure washer into BJs. Didnt fix the pressure washer at all - in fact gave it back to me in the exact same condition it went in. Apparently he doesnt fix pumps, but of coarse he doesnt tell you that up front, otherwise he cant bill you $100 to say he cleaned the carburator. Had to take it elsewhere to get the actual repair completed. Hung up the phone on me when I asked for my money back. Dont waste your time with this guy.

    I agree with other customers on the service and parts, I was there yesterday to pick up parts Carb kit he said to bring the carb to match he got me a kit from the back ask him again all the gasket are there to rebuild and install the carb on the machine that it appeared some gasket are missing he said everything is there got home and clean and replace gasket and yup missing gaskets not able to re installed called him up and very unprofessional individual not able to help.

    Make sure people that your repairs are on your receipt with a written guarantee written on it also.He had my riding lawnmower for over 2 months and still did not fix it but I had paid the $247.00 bill for the repair and am still awaiting a call from him to honor his work guarantee.

    We brought our lawn mower in again this year. We gave them a second chance and wouldnt go back again! They dont call with an estimate so you have to pay or leave the machine and they make money on it by selling it. They are very rude to interact with a. I wanted to know what was normal for service. If we knew it was going to cost us $230 we wouldnt have fixed it. I called and tried to talk but they are very rude and in the end he hung up on me! NEVER GO TO BJS FIX IT!!

    I WENT TO PICK UP THE PARTS and I tried to talk to him to confirm the size, and explain my situation, he just walk away, they took my money and offered no services at all, when he came back and I tried to talk to him, HE WALKED UP TO THE FRONT, AND HE WAS SMOKING A CIGARETTE IN THE STORE FRONT, AND SAID WHY WOULD I HELP I GOT 50 UNITS IN THE BACK I CAN WORK ON, and of course tried to blame me. so I see it as he lied , and then took my money, and tried to blame me, NO HELP, NO SERVICE #bjworst

    After waiting 20 minutes for them to acknowledge they had a customer said they wanted $50 for a shaver charger that's $5 on eBay!!! Save yourself the money and headache go ANYWHERE else

    I started going to Bj's with my dad as a child, now it's been 25 years. Bj has been a great guy to go to for everything we've ever owned. Great local business with a lovable community personality.

    First impressions aren't everything

    I recently (past three years) have helped my brother start his own landscaping business here in St. Albert. Bj's was our first choice to take our machines since it was close and our first experience made us really satisfied with making it our main repair shop...little did we know and over the next couple of years we found out that they don't use good quality parts. With it said that we have taken equipment to Bj's for the past three years and have even had some good chats with the owner, so you think when you tell him you need your equipment fixed quick that within the next few days or at least that week he would of got to it...... I phoned when it was approaching 6 days since I dropped off my trimmers. He tells me, "Well get to them today. We'll call you when they're done." Since this isn't a regular situation to take place I patiently waited. So day seven I go in the morning just a hour after they open to see if they finished them and just forgot to call me. The owner again told me, "There not done yet. Well get to them today." Again I say well there might be things going on that I don't know....but he should know I'm more important then his once in awhile costumer. I pay cash and never give them a hard time just wanted to develop a good business relationship... Ok so day 10 approaches and I call again. Same deal as the first time I called and the next morning I go in a pick up my trimmers which have not been fixed. Thanks Bj's for the great costumer care. Oh and back to the parts issue! We bought these expensive commercial mowers from the main dealer in northern Alberta and they are awesome machines...only one problem. When they aren't fixed with good parts they break down quick no matter how much you baby them. Sad to say I have to rebuild the engines...and that might not even work now because of the damage caused. I'll say this about Bj's though, they can clean a machine up nice and make it look like new but don't be fooled.
