STONEWRITER came to be after years of working in the construction industry as a bricklayer and stonemason. After many years of dealing with stone using only a chisel and hammer, he was able to purchase a wire saw at a local auction and quickly saw the potential for natural fieldstone and nearby mountain stone to become works of art. He now offers a very specialized service of cutting, polishing and engraving these granite stones for gravemarker monuments, headstone memorials, farm sign and historical and military markers. Truly a unique product versus the traditional stone especially seen in cemeteries today.Stones are chosen for color, shape and size with many possibilities available. No two are ever the same with many bringing their own or choosing from stock at our shop. Customers enjoy the surprise of wondering what is "inside" a stone and few are dismayed as the stones are polished out and the individual beauty of each one shines through. In fact, some decide that their stone is too beautiful to cover up with artwork!
However, having said that, artwork is still custom designed with 3 fellow artists. Choices are many and varied and are completed to customer preference and satisfaction. Some will bring pictures of special occasions or pets or scenery pictures that can then be drawn out and reproduced on stencil rubber ready for sandblasting.more...See more text
