Welcome to the Old Strathcona Antique Mall, now celebrating over .operating in the historic Old Strathcona area of Edmonton. We host over 130 antique dealers offering the area's finest antiques & collectibles.
There’s a t-shirt for sale at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall that neatly sums up the whole antique mall experience. “This ain’t your grandma’s antique store,” the shirt proclaims.
No kidding.
The definition of antique is a flexible thing. To a purist, an antique should be at least a century old. To others, 50 years is a good benchmark. And to those who don’t remember a time without personal computers, anything from the Atari era is, like, an antique, dude.
However you define it, you’ll find something to pique your interest at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall. It is chock full of antiques, curios, tchotchkes, retro, vintage, oddities and just plain cool stuff.
Betty Reitan and her daughter, Bobbi Weibel, have owned the mall on Gateway Boulevard since 2009. Betty is a former gourmet coffee shop owner and was part of the executive team at Intuit, while Bobbi has a business degree. Both, of course, are avid antique collectors.
This place is wonderful. I've spend a lot of time just browsing at this place. I think their prices are fair too and you can tell the dealers research before posting their prices too. If you like old toys and furniture then come here first!
If you prefer antiques or retro furniture, this is the perfect place to find everything you need to outfit your home. This mall hosts more than 300 booths selling everything from full bedroom sets to oak china cabinets and marble top hall tables. Plus, they have fine china, such as plates, bowls and coffee pots – everything you need to fill your kitchen cupboards. You’ll also find gorgeous paintings, unique vases and other gems to decorate your home, such as antique French street numbers or a Medalta pottery pitcher.
So many treasures to look at – this place is truly an Edmonton gem. Here, you’ll find pretty much anything and everything: vintage birdcages, fine china, trinkets galore, retro tins and typewriters. The Strathcona Antique Mall is a good place to while away a Sunday afternoon, or an interesting alternative for a first date. Time seems to operate in another dimension here – you’ll enter in the afternoon and emerge at dusk in the blink of an eye.
The Old Strathcona Antique Mall is filled to the brim with vintage treasures, retro kitchenware, nostalgic posters and toys from your childhood. You can easily spend the afternoon here leisurely strolling through two floors of antiques. Be prepared to leave with an armful of goodies.
