Kabuku Restaurant welcomes you to their establishment. They are open late from Monday to Saturday and are easily accessible by public transit but also by bicycle and car. Come visit them in a neighborhood known as exciting.
By far the best sushi place in Calgary in terms of quality, freshness, and true chef experience...but it is pricey. It is busy during business lunch hour, but expect to be in an almost empty restaurant any other time.
Perhaps surprisingly, there are not many good sushi eateries on the Plus 15. Ramen spot Goro + Gun is one, and Kabuku at the bottom of the Calgary Place escalators is another. Featuring booth, table and sushi-bar seating, this is a pleasant street-corner restaurant in which to enjoy a selection of sashimi, nigiri sushi and various rolls. As well, hot Japanese entrees include miso-marinated cod and Fujiyama Alberta strip loin steak. For celebratory meals, consult Kabuku’s list of chilled and warm sake.
Given that Japan is the setting of the evening’s opera, sushi is a thematically appropriate pre-event meal. Located in the northeast corner of downtown Calgary, pleasant Kabuku serves artful, contemporary sushi pieces, rolls and sashimi. Japanese entrees include steak, salmon and cod dishes as well as sharable sushi assortments. Also try the volcano salmon or chicken.
