Terrible. Never got any service. We had to grab our own water. Glasses and pitcher. Food was lukewarm. The table next to us had dirty dishes on it the whole time I was there. Not much selection. I didn't see one waitress on the floor.
The Castleridge community of Calgary is home to an all-day Indian vegetarian buffet and pizza joint – I know where I’ll be next time I visit the northeast. While Five Rivers isn’t your typical date-night spot, they do offer takeout platters that are perfect for date nights in with your beau. Popular buffet items include aloo gobi, mixed veggie curries, and yellow daal served with rice and traditional dhahi yogurt. Appetizers are available for an additional fee, but jumbo samosas are definitely worth it. If buffets aren’t your style, try their veggie burger, paneer pakora plate, or personal Punjabi-style pizza.
Housed in a former Pizza Hut, this vegetarian Indian restaurant boasts an inexpensive all-day buffet featuring a mix of classic Indian dishes as well as pizza and a salad bar. You can load up on lettuce and cucumber to help temper the heat of some of the spicy dishes, or try one of the prepared salads for a little more Indian flair.
This restaurant’s name refers to the five rivers that the Indian state of Punjab is named for. Five Rivers Indian Cuisine features an impossibly vast vegetarian buffet. The menu includes traditional paneer and dal dishes, pizza, burgers and brunch favourites such as chole bhature, a fried North Indian bread served with chickpea curry. The restaurant also serves hot parathas, a stuffed bread that is one of India’s most popular breakfast foods.
